Nigerian Olympian and former Minnesota Timberwolves Small Forward- Josh Okogie inks one year deal with top seeded Phoenix Suns as a free agent.

The former Georgia Tech Wingman joins Bismarck Biyombo (Congolese) as the second import player on the Suns roster.

Playing 244 career games, the wing has averaged 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 20.6 minutes per contest in addition to shooting 40.3% from the floor, 27.5% from beyond the arc and 75.8%  on the paint.

Born Leonardo Arinze Okeke to Nigerian parents in Italy.

Leonardo is  a 19 years old 6’9 power forward/center  weighing 98kg.

Derthona Basket and  Tortona  Olimpiano Milano both Serie A sides initially signed him but the later sent him on loan to Spain.

He presently plays for Joventut Badalona in Spain Liga ACB, he recently played for CB Prat in the Spanish LEB silver league.

Okeke participated in the 2022 FIBA U20 European championship averaging 14.0ppg,8.7rpg in seven matches.

He is yet to represent Nigeria, even though he has dual citizenship.

The former Gardner Webb College graduate also holds a Nigerian passport.

David Efianayi,

At 26y/o standing at 6’2, David Efianayi has decent experience after playing professionally for four years touring Denmark,Sweden and french league.

In Danish league, he was second best scorer averaging 22.2ppg, 4.0rpg,3.7apg,1.5spg during the 2020-2021 season.

He has never represented Nigeria, even though he has a Nigerian passport.


Former Rivers Hoopers/Lagos Islanders and Cleveland cavaliers point guard signs new deal with Venezuelan side Marinos Anzoáteguí.

He previously played for Capetown tigers in South Africa and helped them secure the league title in 2021.

Undrafted in 2010 and signing with the New Jersy Nets,Uzoh has been playing professionally for Thirteen years including a stint with Toronto Raptors.

He has also represented Nigeria on different occasions.


The bulky forward takes his talents to Turkish super league side Tofas Spor.

The Edo state power forward is a graduate of Rice University and went undrafted in 2011.

He has played professionally in the NBA Development League, Qatar, Japan, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany, Russia, France and Israel.

In his recent Israeli campaign, he averaged 14.1ppg, 6.0rpg and 2.2apg.

He also represented Nigeria Two years ago.


Nicknamed Zimmy(From his middle name- Chukwuzimuzo), Nwogbo became an unrestricted free agent after going undrafted in 2013.

The Cedarville College graduate made the GMAC team of the year, and was also named GMAC player of the year in 2013.

The 30yr old played in France Pro B last season for Lille Metropole where he averaged; 12.0ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1bpg in 27 league game appearances.

His recent deal is with BC Souffelweyersheim in the french Pro B league.

Standing at 6’10, Egbunu is known for his strong rim defense and ability to run the floor.

In his fifth Pro season, Egbunu previously played for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli winners league, averaging 7.5ppg and 4.7rpg in 27 league appearances.

His talents just saw him land a deal at Turkish Super League side Gaziantep.

He has also recently played for the Nigerian national team two years ago.
