In a bid to unearth young athletic talent and provide life-changing opportunities, former Nigerian international basketball legend Kingsley Ogwudire is spearheading an unprecedented Football and Basketball Showcase set to take place in the vibrant city of Owerri, Imo State.

The primary goal of this event is to identify and select promising young individuals between the ages of 14 and 19 for potential scholarship opportunities in American schools.

Kingsley Ogwudire, renowned for his contributions to Nigerian sports during his playing days and also on the Nigerian basketball media space, is on a mission to not only nurture talent but to offer a pathway for these aspiring athletes to pursue both their athletic and academic dreams.

By combining the two widely loved sports, the showcase aims to attract a diverse pool of young talents, ensuring a comprehensive scouting process that transcends the boundaries of a single sport.

Kingsley Ogwudire, aged 52, pursued Business Administration studies at Montana State University – Northern in Havre, Montana, and Foothill College in Los Altos, CA, acquiring remarkable dual expertise in both sports and banking.

Just recently, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has given his approval for the appointment of Mr. Kingsley Ogwudire, as the Special Adviser for Diaspora Sports. The appointment is effective immediately.

Ogwudire, a highly accomplished Senior Executive Officer and Advisor, brings over 19 years of successful experience in sports, banking, and organizational operations. His noteworthy career includes significant contributions to the Nigerian Basketball Association (NBA) and various international teams.
