Godwin Omenaka and Destiny Agbamu top the list of top Nigerian players abroad who inked new deals.

Nigerian-born/naturalized players seem to be getting a piece of the pie as various club sides across Europe seem to be jostling for their signatures.

ReboundNG has been able to compile a list of the most recent signings as seen below.

Destiny Agbamu- Italy

Nigerian Born Warri raised Power Forward Destiny recently inked a new deal with Italian Serie A2 side Agribertocchi Orziniovi.

He previously played for Vanoli Cremona in Serie A1 where he had less playing time.

As of the the time of this post, Destiny is 19 years old. The lad still got alot of potential in him and can improve his game in all aspects.

He is also an Alumni of Peace Basketball Academy back home in Nigeria.

Richmond Aririguzoh- Belgium

Born to Nigerian Parents in Ewing- New Jersey USA.

The powerfully built 6’9 center is 24 years Old, 104kg and is in his second season as a professional basketball player.

He attended Trenton Catholic Academy-Class of 2016, and also Princeton University-Class of 2020 and went undrafted in 2021.

In 95 games as a college player, he averaged 7.9ppg, 4.6rbg, 1.2apg.

As at the time of this post, the former Ivy Alumni puts pen to paper for Belgian top tier side Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen.

He recently played for Harko Merlens in the Germany BBL league. So he has averaged 7.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 0.7apg.

Godwin Omenaka- Hungary

After going undrafted in the 2022 draft, Omenaka signs new deal with top Hungarian side; Ergis Komend.

The 6’9 power forward who sometimes play at the center position is a naturalized player.


He previously played for Alba Ferhervar in the Hungarian A League.

Rasheed Wesley Sulaimon- Turkey

Twenty year old Former Duke University shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon signs for Turkish side- Konyasopor Basketbol.

The Son of Kenny and Angela Sulaimon. His dad-Kenny is a Nigerian, while his Mother-Angela is of Jamiacan heritage. He has a brother David, and four sisters, LaToya, Brittny, Shannon and Raven.

He went undrafted in 2016, but featured in the summer league of same year also featuring for G-league side Greensboro Swarm.


Sulaimon has represented USA at FIBA Under 19 level winning Gold and was invited for the 2021 AfroBasket qualifiers in 2020, but was ruled out due to injury concerns.

Obinna Anaekwe- Italy

6’9 centre Obinna Anaekwe signs new deal for Italian serie B club side Sant Antimo Napoli.

After going undrafted in 2021, Anaekwe signed for serie B side Lissone Benareggio Italy, and averaged 9.4ppg, 9.4rpg,1.0bpg in sixteen serie B games.

This new season promises to be exciting and challenging for Obinna.
