Four-star center Oswin Erhunmwunse commits for “Frairs” Providence College.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound No. 2 ranked center  out of Putnam Science Academy chose to play for head coach Kim English over Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, and Creighton.

Providence College’s recent commitment from the  top-20 recruit  is a monumental development for both the college basketball landscape and the young player’s journey from Nigeria to the USA.

Described as one of the best NBA center prospects in the country, Oswin Erhunmwunse’s decision to join the Friars signals a significant win for the program.

The 6-foot-9 210-pound athlete currently a member of the 2025 class, is expected to reclassify into the class of 2024.

He has showcased not only his basketball prowess but also his academic achievements by graduating high school ahead of schedule.

This move positions him as a standout prospect potentially foregoing college for a direct path to the NBA emphasizing the level of talent he brings to the court.

This is a huge get for Providence as Oswin Erhunmwunse ranked number 19 overall, is the highest-ranked recruit to choose the program in over a decade. Only two other Friars have ranked higher in program history.

Erhunmwunse spoke to about his decision to play for Providence. “I chose Providence because it fits with the way I play,” he said. “They play in open space, with a bunch of shooters and it’ll make me a better player.”
